2.  Isotretinoin is chemically similar to vitamin A and used for the treatment of severe acne, that wasn’t reactive to other therapies.

3.  Isotretinoin decreases the natural oily secretions of the skin (sebum) and keratin, a protein created at the external layers of the skin.

4.  Isotretinoin could cause severe birth defects. Therefore, women and adolescents taking the medication should avoid pregnancy throughout the treatment and up to a month after treatment discontinuation.

Isotretinoin causes sensitivity to sun exposure, and so it is essential to use sunscreen (at least SPF 15) or wear long clothes and a hat prior to every sun exposure, even for a short duration. Source: https://www.infomed.co.il/Drug-14/
