Light is a central phenomenon in our world.
Humans rely on light to see, while plants harness it through photosynthesis—the essential process that drives food production on Earth, sustaining the planet’s food chain. Light travels at the fastest known speed, and the ability to split visible light into its component colors has laid the groundwork for countless scientific studies, discoveries and inventions.

In the Light Zone exhibit, you’ll experiment with splitting light into colors, explore reflections, play with kaleidoscopes – and ask: What else can we do with light?
