Accessibility Arrangements at the Davidson Institute of Science Education

The Davidson Institute of Science Education attaches great importance to making its services accessible to people with disabilities, with the aim of addressing their unique needs and ensuring equal and respectful treatment, independence, and safety for all.

The Institute is careful to act in accordance with the requirements of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998 and the regulations enacted thereunder, and adheres to the timelines prescribed by law for completing the accessibility work.

Accessibility of the Institute’s Website

The Institute operates in accordance with the accessibility guidelines in Israeli Standard 5568: “Guidelines for Web Content Accessibility” at Level AA. This Israeli Standard is identical to the guidelines document of the international organization dealing with web standardization: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

Despite our efforts to make all pages of the website accessible, there may be parts of the website that have not yet been fully made accessible. We continue our efforts to improve the accessibility of the website as part of our commitment to enabling convenient use of it for the entire public.

Accessibility Measures on the Website

  • Standards compliance: The website is compatible for use with all common browsers, in their most up-to-date version.
  • Enlarging the display on the website: Visitors with visual impairments can enlarge the display on the website by simultaneously pressing the “Ctrl” and “+” keys (Control Plus). Each press of this key combination will enlarge the display by 10 percent. To reduce the display, simultaneously press the “Ctrl” and “-” keys (Control Minus).
  • Operating the website using a keyboard: Visitors who have difficulty operating a mouse can browse the website using the keyboard. Repeated pressing of the Tab key will allow moving between the links on the page. Pressing Enter will activate the highlighted link.
  • Support for assistive technologies: The website is adapted for viewing by people with a variety of disabilities and supports screen reader software. The accessibility testing of the website’s content was performed using the NVDA screen reader software.
